Profile

Iris is working as a research associate at Andrew & Virginia Rudd Centre. Her job is to support research activities within the group, such as facilitating the development of research objectives, performing quantitative analyses, and assisting with the dissemination of research findings for different projects. Her work primarily uses longitudinal cohort studies to investigate the influences of family processes and other psychosocial, environmental, and biological factors on young people’s mental well-being. She is also interested in the translation of research findings to inform the development of preventative intervention programmes, professional practice, and policy recommendations.

Her PhD was at the CUBIC lab at UCL and investigated the endocrine and inflammatory mechanisms underlying the association between childhood social cognition difficulties and mental health problems in adolescence, using data from ALSPAC. At UCL, she also researched the relationship between neighbourhood greenspace and children’s decision-making ability. Her current project aims to test a variety of socioenvironmental, behavioural and biological factors for the intergenerational transmission of loneliness and metal health problems using causal inference methods.
