Profile

Hannah is Deputy CEO at Cambridge Acorn Project, a charity that provides therapeutic, structural, and environmental enrichment support to children and families who have experienced trauma and abuse and are facing financial hardship. Hannah’s PhD used creative and participatory methods to work with children with SEND to explore their experiences of identity and belonging in different school contexts in England. Whilst doing her PhD Hannah supervised undergraduate students (Education Tripos) at the University Of Cambridge and led seminars on disability and inclusion on the MPhil in Education, Globalisation, and International Development and PGCE programme. Hannah has worked on multiple research projects including: The work lives of disabled teachers in England (Cambridge Humanities Research Grants Scheme), Expansion of Teachers’ Roles and Responsibilities in Inclusive primary Schools in Kenya (Cambridge-Africa ALBORADA research fund), and English Language Teachers with Disabilities (British Council). Hannah is currently project managing a research collaboration between Cambridge Acorn Project and Anglia Ruskin University exploring the use of a block stacking mobile game as a preventative wellbeing intervention. Hannah has long-term, lived experience of mental health difficulties which inform her research and advocacy work. Linked to this, Hannah recently co-produced the short film TYPICAL? which has been nominated for Best British Short Film (Lowestoft Film Festival) and Best Ensemble Cast (Birmingham Film Festival).
